Here are the principle steps of making a carbide point. The method is similar to the diamond point.
1) Preparation Of The Squares
I often utilize wood assemblies for my points and pens. The first step is to cleanly cut sections of wood and then reposition. I often work on many rounds at the same time.
2) Collage
I apply the glue to the surface.
And I press during the time in which the glue sets.
3) Consolidation
The carbide point or diamond point is sometimes used forcefully. I reinforce my sleeves and my caps by inserting a steel tube in the handle. The pieces are drilled, then the steel tube is inserted and glued inside.
4) Turning The Sleeves And Caps
Then I turn the sleeves and caps.
They are finely sanded and glossed to achieve a brilliant and resistant finish.
They must particularly pay attention to the joint between the handle and the cap. I use magnets to achieve an easy closure.
