Knifes /scalpels

I offer three types of knives/scalpels for relief printing (wood or linoleum):

  • Interchangeable-blade knives: available with three specialized blades for relief printing: straight ambidextrous blade (Hangi To), curved blade, and flat blade (Aisuki). Very popular in Japanese printmaking, these blades require regular sharpening, like gouges.

  • Scalpel blade holder: a finer, more precise tool, compatible with three tungsten carbide blades designed for relief printing (long-lasting). These blades are more brittle than those of the interchangeable knife and should be handled with care.

    • Four tungsten carbide blades available: two suitable for relief printing (truncated blade and straight blade), while the other two are more fragile.
    • Also compatible with standard scalpel blades (Swann-Morton, X-Acto) and multi-line blades for intaglio printing (same handle).
  • Swivel scalpel with guided rotation: its articulated design allows separation between rotation precision (thumb and middle finger) and cutting force (hand and index finger), offering better control.

    • Four tungsten carbide blades available, identical to those of the scalpel holder above: two suitable for relief printing (truncated blade and straight blade), while the other two are more fragile.
